The “ Environmentally Sound Management of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) in Industrial and Hazardous Waste Sectors in Bosnia and Herzegovina ” Project is being carried out by the UNDP (United Nations Development Program) Office from 2021 and 2023 and funded by the Government of Sweden.

One of the project’s components is “Implementation of the principles of green chemicals in industry” , which we at TT Cables have decided to use as an opportunity for growth and sustainable development. „Green chemicals“ are field of chemical engineering which generates chemical products and manufacturing methods that minimize or completely eliminate the and production of hazardous materials. It is applied throughout the entire life cycle of the chemical product.

The project is divided into various phases. The first phase involved a thorough identification and analysis of all materials and energy fluctuations, including input raw materials and output emissions into the environment and water. A team of specialists from the Center for Environment, Energy and Resources – CENER21 completed this phase in July 2022 and recommended strategies for implementing green chemistry principles. Several of these steps have already been taken, which has led to financial savings, a decrease in waste volume, a considerable decrease in employees’ health hazards, and a significant contribution to environmental protection.

A contract was signed extending the relationship until October 2023, and we will to implement Green Chemical Practices.

At TT Cables, we are confident that sustainable innovation and growth are the only ones that can succeed over the long haul. That is why, as a regional leader in the cable industry, we continuously develop new strategies for sustainable development while shaping our business and strengthening our financial results. This project is just one of our “green” projects that we are working on and plan to do in the future.

Blood donation is one of the greatest gifts you can give to humanity because it has the power to save the lives of many individuals.

TT Cables has a long history of supporting and encouraging employees to give this gift. So again this year, at Christmas time – the time of giving – we organized a voluntary blood donation campaign in cooperation with our neighbors from the company Emerus.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all blood donors for their selfless acts of generosity and to urge everyone to follow this example.

15. June 2022.

On Friday, the 10th of June 2022 a Cooperation Contract was signed between TT Cables and The Cener 21 Center for energy, environment and resources. Cener 21 is a non-government, non-profit organization founded in 2006 with the aim of developing, promoting and implementing innovative solutions for key issues regarding the efficient use of resources, climate and energy which draw a balance between ecological and economic interests in Southeast Europe, and is particularly focused on climate change, circular economy, biodiversity, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.

The Contract stems from the “Implementing principles of green chemicals in industry” Project.

Participating in the Project are 20 companies which, in cooperation with professional organization staff, will first assess the possibility of implementation of Principles of green chemicals (the basic principle is eliminating hazardous materials from the production process, including raw materials and finished goods) and then move on to implementation of conclusions.

The Project will develop in a few phases by which the first is a detailed analysis of chemical materials in production as well as all materials and energy flows including raw materials and exit emissions into water and the atmosphere. Upon detailed analysis and drafting of conclusions, an action plan for implementation of a Green Chemicals plan will be made over a period of 12 months.

Considering that devotion to preserving the environment is one of our core values and that we continually strive to increase efficiency in this domain, it is with great satisfaction that we can contribute to fulfilling goals of the green economy in order to protect and ameliorate the quality of the environment we live in.

This is one of the many “green projects” we are working on and are convinced that it will be beneficial to not only the environment but also for our production process, employees and customers.

After a two-year break caused by the global pandemic crisis, we had the opportunity to exhibit at the 64th International Fair of Technics and Technical Achievements in Belgrade.

This fair is now known as a leading regional development and technology event, as well as an integrator and supporter of economic cooperation in the field of technology, technical and technological achievements and innovations, as evidenced by the presence of over 500 direct and indirect exhibitors, manufacturing companies, scientific research and educational institutions, start-up projects, and innovative individuals from around thirty countries across three continents.

We were able to meet a lot of new customers and discuss about new products and technologies at our stand. Our professional staff were delighted to offer advice and demonstrate a number of successful projects. The biggest interest has been shown in cables for renewable energy sources, particularly our solar cables, which are already used in solar power plants in several European countries.

Visit by the French Ambassador

Separator - ttcables.com
10. May 2022.

On the 10th of March we had the pleasure of hosting the Ambassador of France, Ms. Christine Toudic, and present our Company. Among the main reasons for the visit is the fact that the French market represents 20% of our sales as well as the fact that we have several French suppliers of raw materials (copper, aluminium etc.) and machinery and spare parts. We discussed business cooperation between France and Bosnia Herzegovina, while the Ambassador accented the importance of the French language in doing business.

We concluded that BH offers a skilled and modestly-priced workforce, low Value Added Tax Rate (17%), low Profit Tax Rate (10%), and competitive land prices which are very favourable conditions for potential investors. We particularly accented the geostrategic location of the West Herzegovina Canton which borders with the Republic of Croatia, and easy access to EU markets by means of Croatian Highways and the Port of Ploče nearby.
