Breast cancer is one of the most common malignant diseases among the female population, not only in Bosnia and Herzegovina but all over the world. As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a special focus is made on the 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 which can be effective in early detection and thus the spread of this malignant disease.

Early detection drastically improves the chances of successful treatment and saves lives. For this reason, we have scheduled complimentary preventative check-ups at a local polyclinic for all of our female employees during Pink October.

We are convinced that there is a lack of initiative on this topic in our country and through this activity we hope to increase awareness with our colleagues and accent that taking care of their health is a priority, while encouraging other companies to do the same.

We wrapped up August by participating at the 10^th 𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗚𝗜𝗘𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗡𝗜𝗞 EXPO in Niederurnen – Switzerland. This significant event brought together leading global companies and experts from the energy sector, and we had the honor of being a part of it.

As the sole representative from Southeastern Europe, we are proud of this unique experience, which differed from traditional fairs, as it unfolded in an open-air setting and attracted world-renowned exhibitors. Our booth welcomed numerous visitors, and our expert team addressed all inquiries from interested attendees. It was a pleasure to showcase our extensive range of products and provide insight into both completed and ongoing projects.

This event serves as a reminder that together we can achieve extraordinary feats and our passion for innovation knows no bounds.

We extend our gratitude to everyone for their positive feedback and the overwhelming turnout – it’s precisely what motivates us to continually improve what we do.

One of the biggest problems civilization is facing today is climate change. According to the latest scientific knowledge urgent action is necessary to avoid the severe negative consequences of climate change. Solving this requires all of us to act.

Our position as a regional leader in cable production is both a significant accomplishment and a responsibility for us. As a major producer, we feel compelled to take action to support smaller producers as well as to ensure that sustainability permeates all aspects of our company and the lives of our employees.

The development of the road to carbon neutrality is one of the many sustainable initiatives we have been working on recently.

Lately we have completed the calculation of Greenhouse Gas Emissions in 2021 (base year) and created a strategy and action plan for their reduction. In the process of calculation, two internationally accepted methods were used for calculating the Carbon Footprint of business entities using the GHG protocol & according to ISO 14064. The GHG protocol for business entities defines three scopes, while the ISO 14064-1:2018 standard defines six categories of greenhouse gas emissions/removals.

Total emissions of Greenhouse Gases TT Cables d.o.o. in 2021 for the calculation limits of Scope 1 and Scope 2 has been verified. Mobile energy sources (83.76%) and fugitive sources (16.24%) had the greatest contribution to Greenhouse Gas emissions. We have set relative emission reduction targets of 5% per ton of product/per employee by 2027 (ie for a medium-term, 5-year period) compared to the base year of 2021 and achieving zero carbon emissions by 2050 (long-term target).

The “ Environmentally Sound Management of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) in Industrial and Hazardous Waste Sectors in Bosnia and Herzegovina ” Project is being carried out by the UNDP (United Nations Development Program) Office from 2021 and 2023 and funded by the Government of Sweden.

One of the project’s components is “Implementation of the principles of green chemicals in industry” , which we at TT Cables have decided to use as an opportunity for growth and sustainable development. „Green chemicals“ are field of chemical engineering which generates chemical products and manufacturing methods that minimize or completely eliminate the and production of hazardous materials. It is applied throughout the entire life cycle of the chemical product.

The project is divided into various phases. The first phase involved a thorough identification and analysis of all materials and energy fluctuations, including input raw materials and output emissions into the environment and water. A team of specialists from the Center for Environment, Energy and Resources – CENER21 completed this phase in July 2022 and recommended strategies for implementing green chemistry principles. Several of these steps have already been taken, which has led to financial savings, a decrease in waste volume, a considerable decrease in employees’ health hazards, and a significant contribution to environmental protection.

A contract was signed extending the relationship until October 2023, and we will to implement Green Chemical Practices.

At TT Cables, we are confident that sustainable innovation and growth are the only ones that can succeed over the long haul. That is why, as a regional leader in the cable industry, we continuously develop new strategies for sustainable development while shaping our business and strengthening our financial results. This project is just one of our “green” projects that we are working on and plan to do in the future.

Blood donation is one of the greatest gifts you can give to humanity because it has the power to save the lives of many individuals.

TT Cables has a long history of supporting and encouraging employees to give this gift. So again this year, at Christmas time – the time of giving – we organized a voluntary blood donation campaign in cooperation with our neighbors from the company Emerus.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all blood donors for their selfless acts of generosity and to urge everyone to follow this example.

Saint Nicholas visited our employees kids and delighted more then 300 of them with appropriate gifts. The kids really loved the play that emphasized the tale of friendship and the value of sharing with others.
Seeing our children happy and smiling gives us the motivation for further work.

This month we participated in the “Light+ Building Autumn Edition” fair that took place between 2^nd and 6^th October in Frankfurt. It was a great experience to visit and exhibit at world’s biggest trade fair for lighting and building technology, which gathered more than 1,500 exhibitors.

After the corona crisis and postponed events, it was a pleasure to meet old partners and find new potential customers. During the fair, we presented our products, and the most interest was in solar cables.

We appreciate your kind reactions and great interest. This motivates us to improve our work even more.
